FBOs other than manufacturers are temporarily allowed to operate on the basis of application of license or registration during the lockdown.
FSSAI has allowed operating all those FBOs who do not fall under the category of Manufacturer Kind of Business on the basis of application of license and registration. All such FBOs need to have a 17-digit Application Reference Number to legally operate. This permission has only been given to those who are allowed to operate by FSSAI.Â
This measure has been taken by the FSSAI to keep the supply chain uninterrupted amid the countrywide lockdown due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
