FBOs has been given an extension of six months from FSSAI with respect to the labelling compliance of the Frozen Dessert Items. As per the standards published in October 2017, all milk and milk products were required to comply with these standards by January 2019 but due to issue with the nomenclature of the frozen desserts, it has again been again extended by FSSAI.
Nomenclature standards are still under review hence on the request from various stakeholders of the industry, FSSAI has issued the extension. Similar relaxation has been given thrice in the past.
