FSSAI has reduced the initial application fee for the FSSAI license by releasing the order on 10th February 2023.
The above important step was taken by FSSAI for the ease of doing business and promoting new businesses and startups.
Read below in detail about the latest order on initial application fee for FSSAI license.
Why FSSAI reduced the initial application fee for the FSSAI license?
License applications get rejected due to FBOs’ ineligibility, system auto-rejections or FBOs’ failure to respond to the query on the application within the stipulated 30-day time period.
Due to this presently, FBOs lose the entire amount of the application fee ranging from Rs.2000 – Rs.7500 + GST.
In order to promote businesses and new startups and providing ease in obtaining FSSAI license, Food Authority has decided to reduce the initial application fee for FSSAI license to Rs 1000 + GST (as applicable).
What has changed in the new order for the initial application fee for the FSSAI license?
From now onwards, FBOs will only have to pay Rs.1000 + GST as the initial application fee for the license.
The remaining amount will have to be paid within 30 days after the application will be found eligible for the grant of the license.
The status will be displayed on the website to pay the remaining amount for the eligible applications.
The application will be rejected if FBOs fail to pay the remaining amount within 30 days.
Which food businesses are eligible for a reduced initial application fee?
The order is applicable for only food businesses or startups applying for a new FSSAI license submitted on or after 10/02/2023.
All applications will be processed in an existing manner.
