FSSAI Re-operationalized Amendment Regulation Regarding Licensing & Food Registration of Food Business

FSSAI has framed Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Business) Amendment Regulations, 2018.

These regulations were operationalized from 15 Feb 2018 and subsequently operationalized w.e.f

 16 Aug 2018, 28 Feb 2019, 28 Aug 2019, 16 Feb 2020 respectively.

The draft notification is still under process and finalisation may take some more time hence FSSAI has re-operationalized the above regulation from 16 August 2020.

The mentioned regulation contains amendments in the following Sections:

  1. Section I- Licensing and Registration of E-commerce business
  2. Section II- Documents to be enclosed for a new application for licenses to Central/State Licensing Authority for a restaurant.
  3. Section III-Conditions of license for a restaurant
  4. Section IV: Part II Schedule 4 relating to general requirements on Hygienic and Sanitary practices to be followed by all FBOs applying for the license.
  5. Section V: Part IV of Schedule 4 relating to establishing a small slaughterhouse
  6. Section VI: Part V of Schedule 4 relating to good hygienic and manufacturing practices to be followed by licensed FBOs engaged in catering or foodservice operations
