Food adulteration is a major concern for all of us and FSSAI is continuously taking steps to fight the adulteration and improve the quality of edible products.
FSSAI has recently conducted a surveillance exercise of the quality of edible oils and fats in the Delhi -NCR region. It has been found in the sample test report that 33% of samples of mustard oil have the presence of rice bran oil.
The presence of oryzanol in the mustard oil is the indicator of the adulteration in the mustard oil.
All the Food Safety Commissioners of States and UTs are asked to conduct the sample test of mustard including for the presence of oryzanol.
