*Clarification dated 26th Sept. 2022 regarding requirement of Health Certificate to be accompanied with the import of food consignment [Updated on: 26-09-2022]

Key note: FSSAI has notified that during the import clearance, FBO’s can also submit an integrated/single certificate incorporating all food safety requirements in the format which was specified on 3rd August 2022.

*Order dated 10th October 2022 regarding requirement of registration of foreign food manufacturing facilities as per Food Safety and Standards (Import) First Amendment Regulations, 2022 dated 03.11.2021 [Updated on:10-10-2022]

Key note: FSSAI has mandated the requirement of registration of foreign food manufacturing facilities which are exporting Milk & milk products, Meat and meat products including poultry, fish and their products, Egg powder, Infant food, Nutraceuticals in India. Therefore, it is advised to the FBO’s which are importing the above mentioned products to get the foreign based manufacturing facilities registered from their respective competent authorities & send the list of such manufacturing facilities on the email id dramit.sharma@fssai.gov.in & import@fssai.gov.in . This order will come into effect from 1st February 2023.

*Direction under Section 16 (5) of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 regarding extension of facility of Provisional NOC to registered Authorised Economic Operators (AEOs) [Updated on:18-10-2022]

Key note: FBOs importing food consignments having Authorised Economic Operators (AEOs) certification from custom shall submit the undertaking as per the given format in direction to the concerned authorized officer & the AO shall issue Provisional No-objection certificate after carrying out visual inspection without waiting for the lab report. The final No-objection certificate shall be issued after receiving the analysis report from the laboratory & if the product conforms to the FSSAI standards.
