All the NABL accredited and FSSAI labs including state food testing labs are advised to include the parameters of fortificants /micro nutrients in scope of testing and obtain NABL accreditation.
Currently unit used in reports varies. Therefore, it is instructed that all food testing labs to follow the units as specified in FSSR in respect of fortified foods.
FSSAI issued this notification on 19 February 2021 in the context of centrally proposed scheme by DoFPD (Department of Food and Public Distribution) for the supply of fortified rice through various services and schemes in all the States and UTs.
