To facilitate reduction of sugar the draft regulation proposes deletion of the parameter “Total Soluble Solid” and the values thereto for the sub regulations 2.3.9, 2.3.10, 2.3.30. As industries are ready with their reduced sugar formulations, but are not able to launch such products because the publication of final gazette notification is pending. As the notification will take some more time it has been decided to implement the mentioned standards with immediate effect till the issuance of final notification in this regard.
